Weekend Fixtures – 29th/30th September

Fixtures for the 29th/30th September.

Good Luck to all our teams, especially our U7’s & U8’s who play down at Central Venue (CV) for the first time….. ENJOY!!

Lancashire Sunday League Teams

Evan Halls Sunday Team will be hoping that they can register their first league win of the season when they entertain BAE Warton at Carr Lane this Sunday, 11am kick off.

BAE have had a very indifferent start to the season managing to play 9 league games (the most in the division) winning 5 and tasting defeat in 4 of the games. They currently sit joint top of division 3 on 15 points along with our very own Tarleton Whites and Lostock Hall. However both teams do have games in hand on BAE.

This could prove to be a goal fest with BAE scoring 36 in their first 9 games but also conceding 35. Corinthians have hit the back of the net 8 times but have conceded 16 in their first 4 league games.

Steve Gautrey takes his U18’s on a short trip to Leyland to face Ribble Wanderers who have lost both their league games so far this season including a crushing 8-1 defeat in their last fixture.

The U18’s lads will be hoping to bounce back from their own defeat (3-1 Penworthan St Teresas) last time out, which was disappointing after their encouraging start to the season.

Kick Off is 11am

1st Team – Return To Action

The 1st team are back in action this Saturday for the first time since a 4-0 loss nearly 3 weeks ago. Since then they have had a game abandoned due to a serious injury and a fixture free weekend.

Brian Hall and his squad welcome local rivals Walmer Bridge down to Carr Lane for a derby match which on paper should produce a very entertaining game.

Walmer Bridge currently sit 3rd in the first division table after winning 4 of there first 5 games. The only defeat coming in their last fixture where they lost 4-1 against FC Bolton.
Brian Hall will be hoping that his young guns can produce a match winning performance to help close the 6 point gap on Walmer Bridge and propel his team up the table.

Kick off at Carr Lane is 2pm.

Sunday Teams In Action

Two of our three Lancashire Sunday League Teams are in action this weekend.

Evan Hall’s team entertain Division One side Warton in the 1st round of the Syndicate Trust Challenge Cup. Evan will be hoping that the lads can muster up their second win of the season. Their only other victory was in the Preliminary Round of this cup back in August. It will be a tough game as they will go into it as the underdogs, Warton are two divisions above us. lets hope for a big upset…..

Steve Gautrey takes his U18 team to Blackpool to take on Layton Cavs in the Youth Blue Division. After a heavy defeat two weeks ago in the Youth Cup, they played their first league game last Sunday at Carr Lane and came away with an impressive 5-2 victory. They will be hoping to make it two wins in a row this Sunday

Both games kick off at 11am

Good Luck to both teams!!

First team looking to bounce back

Brian Halls first team squad are looking to bounce back from the 4-o loss in their last league game. Tomorrow they travel to Myerscough College to take on Broughton Amateurs ‘Res’.

Broughton themselves have only played one league game so far this season which resulted in a 5-0 loss, so they will also be looking to bounce back to winning ways.

A win for the first team could see them move up to 4th place, depending on other results.

Despite a couple of heavy defeats this would be considered a great start to the season for this young, up and coming team.

Good Luck Brian and lads!!!
